Special Educational Needs and Disability Information
" ... in our family, we nurture the courage and skills to fly higher than the flock."
At Overthorpe we believe that every child has the right to a fantastic education, regardless of their ability. We encourage all children to "fly higher than the flock" and we nurture their skills and talents to enable them to do this.
We ensure that our provision meets the needs of all learners across school and we put in place specific support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disability.
Our SEND Leader is Paula Allott. If you have a queries regarding the provision for SEND children at Overthorpe she is more than happy to help. Please contact her by phoning the school office on 01924 325300 and selecting the option for "Mrs Allott".
As part of the Kirklees Local Offer, Overthorpe CofE Academy has produced the following information in order to give parents an overview of SEND provision in school and answer frequently asked questions.
Inclusion and Special Educational Needs
We are committed to be fully inclusive where all members of our school are treated fairly and equally. By working in partnership with children, families and partner agencies, we ensure that all children receive the support they need to access all aspects of school life. We respect each child as an individual and have high expectations and aspirations for all.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child and would like to speak to us at school, then please do not hesitate to contact our SENCO - Paula Allott
